Getting Here

By train

Direct mainline train services run to nearby towns of Bangor (linking London Euston) and Porthmadog, both with connections via the Snowdon Sherpa bus service. The romantic option is to arrive via the Welsh Highland Steam Train - our home is a stones throw from the Station.

By car

There's quick, straightforward access from the North West along the M56 and A55 coastal highway. Motorway links with the Midlands and South of England are good too - the M6, M5 and M1 linking onto the A5.

By Air

Transfers from the international gateways of Manchester, Liverpool and Birmingham generally take less than two hours.

By Sea

Irish Ferries and Stena Line operate regular and high-speed services to Holyhead on the Isle of Anglesey from Dublin and Dun Laoghaire. It is approx. 45 minutes drive from Holyhead to Beddgelert. (Irish Ferries: 08705 171717 / Stena Line: 08705 707070)

GETTING AROUND

Most guests arrive by car but you don't have to and we have lots of ideas for adventurous car free days out. The Snowdon Sherpa bus service travels throughout the National Park and gives you the chance to visit the towns and villages in the surrounding area. Please help to minimise the impact your holiday will have on this beautiful area by parking your car and taking the bus. The bus stop is just 60 yards from our house and link all the main paths for Snowdon and the most popular villages. In the summer many of the services are open top to make the most of the fantastic scenery!

The Welsh Highland Railway is a fantastic option to get you out and about - we have lots of recommended walking and cycling intineries (mostly off road) which link in with the railway and public transport so you can miss out the more demanding sections or avoid returning on the same route. Most steam trains haul cycle carriages and you can hire bikes just 50 yards from our home at Beddgelert Bikes.
