We really do love feedback after all and are very proud of the lovely reviews we have received.

I have had a wonderful 3 days at Beddgerlert House with my two sons. We went Mountain Biking at Coed y Brenin on the way and had just a short 30 min drive to the house in the late afternoon. On day two we climbed Snowdon going up along the Watkin Path and back down along the ridge heading south from the summit before rejoining the Watkin Path near the waterfalls. On day three we went to Morfa Nefyn to walk along the coastal path and then in the late afternoon went to the Aberglaslyn pass and Gerlert’s Grave. We also got a short ride along the path into the Beddgerlert forest and would have gone further but for it starting to go dark.

The accommodation was perfect for our needs and I would highly recommend it and will likely go again as this part of Wales has so much to see and do and we have barely scratched the surface.

Chris Gibbons,

We’ve had the best time staying here, we’ve explored some great places - our favourite being abersoch and the beach at Barmouth. We’ve had some lovely food at the bistro and pizza place in the village. The house is very well equipped and it was a lovely touch to be welcomed with tea, coffee and a fresh cake. The beds are extremely comfortable, we all sleep really well. Would definitely recommend staying here to friends and family

Lucy Shaw,

Our second time staying at Beddgelert House and we were so glad to have so much space although the rain only kept us in for one day so we made use of the scrabble! I love the mezzanine room and the bed is just so comfy. The house is really well equipped and the only thing we would add is a pizza cutter!
We are railway fans and it was the WHR Centenary weekend so we kept popping up the station to see the various engines and took a ride down to Porthmadog one day. We explored further afield including South Stack lighthouse (fab guide) and we did a boat trip along the Menai under both bridges before seal and puffins spotting.
Hopefully we will be back next year.
Thanks Jackie for being such a fab host.

Sue Cullen,

A wonderful week in Beddgelert! The house was perfect for our family holiday, with really lovely indoor and outdoor spaces to spend time together. Very short walk to lots of amenities in the village plus easy access to the best of Eryri for walking, climbing, cycling and swimming.

Andrew,

It was our first visit to Beddgelert and we absolutely loved staying in the 'Beddgelert House' cottage. The cottage was beautiful, spacious and immaculately clean. Having two bathrooms is definitely a plus point. The host (Jackie) was very helpful, always reachable and excellent at communication. It was so lovely of the host to leave a generously large and delicious cake on our arrival and extending the checkout time by 30 minutes on our departure. I would highly recommend the Beddgelert House and would definitely love to stay again.

Prassan,

I've loved staying in this house, it's in such a beautiful location. The view from the back garden is stunning and I loved the inside too with it's woodfired stove, spacious kitchen and comfortable settees. It's the perfect base for all your adventures, whether they're outside exploring or inside eating and drinking at the local pubs and restaurants.

Jackie Fry ,

The location of this holiday accommodation was superb for our days and evenings. There are a huge selection of magnificent walks from the doorstep, so no need to bother with a drive out. There is even a bus stop 2 minutes away for walks elsewhere in Snowdonia, nearby bike hire at Beddgelert Forest, not to mention the beautiful trains on the Welsh Highland Heritage Railway which stop in the village on their way between Caernarfon and Porthmadog. After sampling the beautiful countryside, there are cosy pubs and fine dining in the village just two minutes walk away. The house itself is contemporary and spacious with all the amenities we could wish for. It even brings the outside in with a fabulous view of the mountains through the picture window at the rear of the property. The decking area is perfect for a drink in the evening. A fantastic holiday!

L Hutchinson,

From start to finish, our stay at Jackie's was ace. The communication was clear, reliable and friendly, Jackie was always available should we need her.

The house itself was gorgeous, spotless and comfortable, the surroundings were stunning. I particularly loved making a "proper" coffee with the espresso machine and looking out at the mountains. Amazing views. The wood fire was great, especially after frosty February walks. The kitchen was very well equipped and had everything we needed (we cooked most of our meals in the house). The local bistro was excellent as well!

Will 100% be coming back and staying here again! 10/10 on all accounts.

Imogen,

A lovely house in the perfect location - Beddgelert is a beautiful place with cafes and gift shops, fast flowing rivers and scenic bridges. There are amazing walks right from the door, a mountain railway just behind the house, Snowdon is a stone's throw away, not to mention Zip World, bike hire and copper mines to explore. We have returned several times and hope to come back again soon!

Helena Lawrence,

What a lovely house in beautiful Beddgelert. The house is just perfect for a family holiday - this year it was me, my daughter, my niece and Mum. The girls (18 and 20) loved the twin bedroom whilst Mum and I took the doubles. The mezzanine room is completely private and is a good size too. The bed was sooooo comfortable. The house is really well equipped and we had everything we needed in the kitchen. The sitting room with it's huge window is fab and two large sofas were very comfy. We visited in early September and made use of the log burner most evenings. We enjoyed a few games of scrabble too.

We have been coming to North Wales for many years and are still finding new things to do - this year we explored the bottom end of the Watkin Path up Snowdon and took the opportunity to have a dip in the wonderful waterfall pools. It is only a 7 minute drive to the car park at the bottom of the path from the cottage. We had another trip to beautiful LLandwyn Island, a journey on the Ffestiniog Railway and a fab walk at Llyn Ogwen.

The village of the Beddgelert is such a good central location and the house is only two minutes on foot from the centre of the village.

We had a delicious meal at the Saracens Head, scrumptious ice creams and pizza from Glaslyn and great fish and chips from Tremdog chippie.

We hope to come back again next year,

Thanks Jackie for the fab accommodation and for the all the info you sent before we arrived.

Sue Cullen,

We have just come home from a lovely weeks holiday at Beddgelert House. We were lucky to have some lovely warm weather and was able to enjoy the garden in the evening. The house itself was lovely and clean and well equipped. The owner is very welcoming and friendly. The house is a short distance away from the train station and our children loved hearing the trains come in and would run up the path to watch them come and go. We would definitely recommend this place to our friends and family and are looking to return in the future.

Teresa and Jon Davis,

Thank you so much for having us Jackie. We had an unforgettable holiday in Snowdonia and can't believe our luck with the weather. Your property is beautiful, and set in such an idyllic location! We will definitely recommend it, and hopefully one day, will stay again ourselves :)

Nick,

The house was perfect for our family. It is a very well equipped and comfortable and we very much enjoyed our stay there. There are lovely walks from the cottage/village without having to drive and would recommend Hebog restaurant for a delicious meal but do book for evenings as very popular. Jackie is a very helpful host and was always very prompt with any assistance required. Would definitely book again!

Karen and Andrew Redmond,

Perfect house. Perfect location.
Had absolutely everything that we wanted, was close to everything. So many walks and bike trails from the cottage we couldnt fit them all in. Lovely little garden area with patio and the parking space for 2 cars at the front was an added bonus. Really lovely property. We were lucky with the weather and were able to enjoy the seating outisde too. Very good communication from Jackie and everything was perfect.

Elizabeth,

We have just returned from a great week at Beddgelert House . The weather was wet and windy during our stay but the house was warm and cosy . Ideal layout for 5 which included a 10 yr old who loved the fast Internet as ours at home is quite slow ! Ideal location for the village, pubs and restaurants ,all within walking distance . Very informative file for walks, activities and places to eat . A good location for all of the Zip World sites which was our main reason for staying in the area . Communication with Jackie was excellent and she was very prompt in answering our queries . Great walks from the door.

Sue,

We couldn't get enough of Jackie's lovely property. It was exactly as described and even when we had excessively rough weather and couldn't go out as planned, there was more than enough to do at home. Jackie was very communicative and when we faced a possible extension due to Storm Eunice, she was more than willing to accommodate it. The Beddgelert village itself is out of a picture book and we loved having that as a base for our adventures in Wales. Thanks Jackie and I'll recommend you & the property to friends and family as well!

Sachin Pai,

Absolute gem of a property - perfect location for exploring. Great facilities and would stay again in a heartbeat - thanks so much x

Elisha,

Just come back from a short stay at Beddgelert House - what a wonderfully comfortable house! Warm, cosy, fully equipped and beautifully furnished. The house is really well situated and is a great base for walking. Beddgelert is a beautiful little village and with some nice places to eat. Would definitely love to come back to Beddgelert house for a longer stay.

Carol Goldsack,

We had the most wonderful time staying in Jackie’s fabulous cottage. It was spotless, warm, cosy and perfectly equipped with everything you need. The location is just perfect, close to the coast but just a stones throw from the most breathtaking walks. Jackie has put together the most informative welcome book, along with maps that will give you ideas for the best holiday. We will most definitely be back. Many Thanks to Jackie in her detailed efforts in giving us a fabulous week. A First Class holiday home:)

Claire (Via Airbnb),

A great base for a great holiday!. We were lucky to have sunshine almost everyday. We love the open space, eco-conscious lay-out, fully equipped kitchen, comfortable beds, powerful shower, washing machine and dryer - to name a few. We did have a problem with the shower room door which Jackie has dealt with, but it didn't affect our family. The village itself is so lovely with the best ice-cream in the country, great walking trails, conveniently located for biking adventures and best of all, we can walk to the train station from our back yard. We seemed to be able to drive easily to most places in Snowdonia from here. All in all, a great holiday indeed!

Vivien,

We had a wonderful time at Beddgelert House which is really nice, spacious and well equipped. It is really well located for all the activities that Snowdonia has to offer. Jackie is a great host, very helpful and easy to get hold of. An easy walk into the village where there are pubs and other eating places and a well stocked shop. We had a great time, just a shame it was so short - thank you!

Karen,

Had a great week here with our 4 kids despite some pretty wet weather. Loved the steam trains, the balcony room, the views, the games and jigsaws on wet afternoons, the ice cream in the village, and managed some lovely walks below the cloud line! Thank you for having us!

Dave G-J,

The upstairs bedroom window and French doors downstairs provide the picture frame to our own art gallery of ever changing mountain vistas.

The first half the week we made the most of great weather to explore the area, up mountains, down beaches, down zip lines to name but a few things this brilliantly situated house gives you access to. For the latter part of the week the biblical levels of rain meant we made use of the lovely open plan layout of the house and escaped to the local cafes and restaurants in any breaks in the weather.
Jackie was very prompt I'm ant correspondence and a very attentive host.

Ruth,

Had a great time. Lovely views from the house and in a very quiet location, so peaceful but with all village amenities on the doorstep. Tanronnen Inn food is excellent and we also enjoyed the takeout Pizza in the village. Tea Rooms at Rhyd-Ddu was also very nice especially the homemade 'speculaa' (We had to ask what is was & then bought some to take home with us!) The House is very comfortable with everything you need provided. In depth information folder very useful. Thank you for the Tea, Coffee, Biscuits and gorgeous Soap. Can recommend the walk up Moel Hebog from the garden, Llyn Idwal in the Ogwen Valley (just stunning) and we also climbed Cnicht which was hard work in the 28 degree heat we had! Plas Brondanw Garden Cafe was the perfect place to enjoy refreshments at the end of the walk.

Edwards,

This is a beautifully designed home in a fabulous location.
Cosy and stylish. Walking distance to good pubs and restaurants.
If you can tear yourself away from the view of the back garden.
Everything clean and Jackie very easy to get hold of.

Christena,

Thankyou for a wonderful stay at your beautiful cottage. It is so beautiful ,and home from home , our granddaughter didn’t want to leave. The mezzanine bedroom which Matilda called the loft bedroom was a calm and relaxing space. The village is as beautiful as I remembered as a child , cafe colwyn, the ice cream parlour and gift shop all fabulous and great service. The surrounding areas all as charming, despite the weather, but we made the most of our time. Many thanks. X

Valerie Nagington,

This is a great house in a perfect location. The garden and upstairs bedroom have fabulous views and now the trains are back running it's a short walk to see the steam trains. The house is perfectly located for loads of activities even during these tough times. The walks from the house alone could fill up a week. Jackie provides very useful location info in her white file and several places are offering takeaway food of excellent standard. We avoided Snowdon but did other walks, Velocity 2, The Welsh Highland Railway, various castles and canoeing on the Menai Straights at Plas Menai, all booked in advance but were well organised and great fun. All of these are an easy drive from this house. Fully recommended.

Jenny,

We have just had a fantastic week at Beddgelert house, the cottage itself is really nice, spacious and well equipped. Really good walks literally on the doorstep, and Beddgelert itself is a friendly village with 3 good pubs and other eating places and a well stocked shop. I thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend to anyone.

Jon Hesketh,

We have just returned from a fantastic weeks holiday in Beddgelert. We were so lucky to go as we were the first to go after restrictions were lifted after lock down. The property is perfectly located for great walks, climbing Snowdon or trips to the coast. There is a great view up the mountain from the living room and patio, and we went for a lovely walk up the mountain behind the property. My favourite was a walk along the river from the village, along the Aberglaslyn pass them up over the mountain coming down to the Sygun copper mines. Rhyd-Ddu car park is a couple of miles along the road a perfect route to climb Snowdon a much quieter route up than several of the other routes. We only saw a handful of people until we got near the top ( however due to covid 19 numbers are much lower than normal) but an interesting route with lots of climbing not just a foot path. Well worth it. Beddgelert is a pretty village with several good pubs a good village store, Pizza takeaway & ice creams. We also had a good day out in bikes from Beddgelert bike hire through the woods. The property had everything we needed apart from throws to snuggle up in the evening, but these had to be removed due to covid 19, so I would recommend bringing your own.. Thanks to Jackie for all her help and speedy response to my questions, during lock down. We will definatly be returning.

Wendy,

Lovely place.great space. Ideal for a weekend walking.Storm Ciara made for some very dramatic weather and an epic exit from the village.Great info updates on the road closures from Jackie. Both very helpful and thoughtful.Would love to return.

Jan,

Jackie

I wanted to personally let you know, what an amazing time we had in Snowdonia and it was made all the more wonderful staying in your house and in Beddgelert village. The house was well furnished, clean and in the perfect spot. We went out every evening to most of the wonderful eateries in the village. We also enjoyed a long walk through Aberglaslyn past, up and around the other side of the village. Plus of course a trip on the train to Caernarfon.

We will return as low cloud meant we didn’t attempt Snowdon and next time I will book direct.

Many thanks again.

Naomi and Mark,

We had a really lovely stay in this clean, comfortable, well-equipped and beautiful home. The location was amazing, Beddgelert is a lovely village with great facilities. There are lovely walks from the door, and a Welsh Highland Railway station and Snowdon Sherpa bus stop at the end of the road.
Thank you so much!

Jill and Chris,

We had a very enjoyable week in this well-equipped and eco-friendly house in a cute village with several good eateries and glorious views in every direction. Great base for walks, cycling, horse-riding and hiking up Snowdon.

Sharon Smithwell,

Faultless from the initial contact to the stay, It's a beautiful house in a wonderful area, everything was thought of, we spent every night playing Cluedo as a family (which we never get to do at home)The train station was at the end of the garden and i looked forward to hearing the steam train every morning, We made some wonderful memories and would not hesitate to return.

Lisa Tonge,

A really nice and cozy house, well-equipped and situated in the middle of a stunning landscape. The walking pahts begin just in front of the garden (where sometimes a few sheep come to mow the lawn). Beddgelert itself is a beautiful village, right in the centre of the mountains. We had a great stay here - thank you!

Paul,

This is a very well equipped house in a lovely convenient setting. If you like walking there are gentle or challenging paths so close to the house. If you like a village equipped there are plenty of eateries & just enough shops for your everyday needs plus stylish gifts within 100 yards of the house. The Welsh Highland train station just up a short path gives you a lovely ride through beautiful scenery. Paths and the train up Snowdon are so accessible for all abilities.

Jane (via Airbnb),

Beddgelert house was a delightful base for us to explore Snowdonia. Super comfortable and stylish and cozy - less than half an hour drive to the various ascents up Snowdon Andy several lovely walks straight from the cottage. We especially enjoyed sitting outside on the patio, and were quite happy one rainy afternoon as it meant we could spend some time at the house:)
There are lots of great cafes and pubs to walk to and the wee shop in the converters church had some beautiful gifts for sale. Jackie was very easy to communicate with and very responsive when we had any questions. Hope we can come and stay again soon!

Rachael Hunter,

had a great stay in a loverly house, convenient for all shops, restaurants, pubs & walks. Beautiful views when looking out of windows. If we return Beddgelert would stay there again, have passed details on to friends who are thinking of a holiday in Wales.

We had a wonderful stay. The home was very well equipped. The wood burning stove and fire wood was a very nice touch.

Glenn,

This is a lovely property with a wonderful host who kept me informed with all the information needed. The house was very clean and in a lovely location. The village of Beddgelert is stunning and so picturesque. We would definitely come back here to stay again. Thank you Jackie for having us!

Nicola (vua Airbnb),

If you want the perfect place to explore Snowdonia from then this is the place. The house and local village are stunning. The house was spotless and was beautifully appointed. We couldn’t have wanted for more. Thanks for a great stay.

John (via Airbnb),

Great location. Amazing walks and biking from the door. Welsh highland railway runs past back garden. We loved it here! Great family holiday thank you

Rachel (via Airbnb),

We stayed 4 nights and it was great. Beddgelert is an excellent base for a walking holiday - we didn't need the car at all during our stay. The house was nicely located in the village and was modern, clean and well-equipped. Recommended.

Terry D,

A lovely house, has everything you could need and is really comfortable and clean. Fabulous location with lots of tips provided on what to see and where to eat. Highly recommend this house, and the host Jackie couldn't be more helpful throughout the whole booking process, a brilliant host!

Laura (Airbnb),

Welcome long weekend with the family, perfect accommodation, perfect location, perfect weather. With great weather, we had 4 days where we hardly saw a cloud, Snowdonia has got to be one of the most stunning places on this planet to visit. Beddgelert is a beautiful village right in the heart, a stones throw from Snowdon itself.

Beddgelert house is a 5 min stroll from the centre, and was just right for us. Sitting on the patio in the sun, with a cold drink, looking out onto the mountains could not be more relaxing. I hope to be back some day soon.

Marcus,

A wonderful place to stay in a village where you can walk to everything. Great hiking in the local area and a central place to explore the magnificence of Snowdonia. Thanks Jackie for your assistance in making our stay all go exactly to plan.

David (via Airbnb),

The house itself is a perfect echo of Beddgelert itself: individual, welcoming & geared to its visitors - with stunning walks - 1 from the bottom of the garden - and an ice cream parlour in the village if it's warm or the log burning stove at the property if it's chill. We ziplined & enjoyed a stunning drive to Velocity 2 only 40 mins away.

Rob Morgan,

Perfect place in Bedgellert - great location and lovely quality accommodation with great log fire to boot. Literally in the village and short drive to Watkin Path for snowdon. Jackie was really quick to answer my last minutes questions. Would definitely go back when attempting the next route up snowdon.

Ket (via AirBnb),

Outstanding views from the living room and patio. Clean and modern rooms with an unusual and interesting layout, which gave us a feeling of staying in a Swiss chalet. Good internet connection allowed us to stream music into the Bose sound link speaker to liven up the evenings. Plenty of choice to eat out and all within a two minute walk. We prefer to cook ourselves and found the kitchen well stocked with everything you’d need - including sharp knives! The coffee machine got plenty of use thanks to the complimentary delicious packet of ground beans along with milk, sugar and chocolate chip cookies - just what’s needed after a long journey!

Trevor (via AirBnB),

We enjoyed our Easter week staying in Beddgelert. The house was comfortable, clean and well equipped for our family of four. It is in an excellent location very close to the village centre and importantly to the ice-cream shop (I think we managed 15 flavours between us). The location is superb for exploring without the need to use the car, with walks both low and high level in all directions. It's a great base for exploring this beautiful part of Wales.

Catherine Cannon,

Wonderful property in a beautiful area with everything you could need. Extremely attentive and friendly host. Highly recommended.

Pauline,

The village was gorgeous and we are grateful for all the tips and information we received from Jackie about it. The house was comfortable, stylish and practical. Futhermore, Jackie answered all my emails very swiftly.

Kamelia via Airbnb,

Amazing house, location and host. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a place to stay in Snowdonia!

Patrick via Airbnb,

Lovely house in a great location. The house was perfect for our stay. It was clean and spacious in a quiet street only a 2 minute walk from the village centre which had a good variety of places to eat and a well stocked village shop.
Right in the heart of Snowdonia, we were spoilt for choice for things to do and places to visit. Stunning surroundings and enough variety to keep our teenagers happy. We intend to return. Jackie (owner) was very easy to communicate with and was a welcoming and responsive host.

Karen Jones,

Lovely bright and spacious house not far from village centre. Had fantastic time and hope to go again.

Victoria Walsh,

Jackie has a great place and we are so glad we found this property in the heart of the village .... I would recommend this to anyone ... 5 stars and will definitely be back next time we are in Snowdonia ... Thanks Jackie ...

Richey via Airbnb,

just had 2 weeks in this property. Well kitted out and great location. Walks and cycle rides from the door in a truly beautiful part of Wales. Will definately be returning!

steve,

Beautifully situated cottage with wonderfully comfortable beds! It is a fabulous spot and despite the truly appalling weather we had a great time.

Penny,

We have just spent a week at Beddgelert House and can't rate it highly enough. It was perfect for our family of 6 - stunning location, really well equipped, and with numerous leaflets, magazines and other pieces of information it was fantastic. All the information that Jackie had provided prior to our arrival was brilliant - highlights for us were the Aberglaslyn Pass, the steam train to Porthmadog, walks around the village, a few hours spent in Betws-y-coed, the Titan and Fforest Coaster at Zip World. Thank you so much Jackie, we are already planning a return trip next year as we didn't do half of what we were hoping to do... Lotty Dunbar

Lotty and Dougie Dunbar,

Stayed here for 3 nights May 2017 with friends, and the house was great. 3 pubs within a couple of minutes, village shop round the corner & sherpa bus down the road. Added bonus of a cup of tea and biscuits on arrival. Will be back. Thanks for having us.

Kerry Holmes,

Amazing house in the heart of Snowdonia. Jackie's place is a well located, wonderfully decorated and Jackie was a great host. 100% satisfied!

Andrew via Airbnb,

We had a lovely time in Beddgelert House. It's very clean, tidy and cosy with the wood burner providing that extra warmth when you return from a day's walking and exploring. Beddgelert is the perfect location to travel around Snowdonia and there are lots of pubs, cafe's and shops in walking distance. We didn't take the train from the station behind the property but would recommend booking when you are there - we will be back to do that one day for sure. The tea & biscuits on arrival was a treat after a long journey.

Angela via Airbnb,

Beddgelert House is a step above the rest! The location and amenities were perfect. The house itself is gorgeous, works very well for a family of 6, and we love that it's eco friendly. Everything you need is either in the house or at your doorstep. You won't regret choosing this house.

Natalie,

We spent 3 lovely days in Jackie's home and it was an amazing experience. The house was exactly as how it looked liked in the pictures -- very tidy, spacious yet still very cozy. The village ambiance provided just the right relaxing feeling one needs for a quick getaway break. It had nice pubs and restaurants just walking distance from the house that served the best meals, at an affordable price. Jackie was very accessible and highly responsive from pre-booking and made sure everything was set for our visit. Will definitely come back and highly recommend this place for others to visit. Thank you Jackie!

Veronica,

" We had a delightful four nights at Hafodty Cottage in Beddgelert in October. We were fortunate to have lovely weather, and we were extremely comfortable. A well-equipped kitchen and comfy furnishings too. What a beautiful little village Beddgelert is! We enjoyed some days out, but also found time to just stroll around the village enjoying the beautiful scenery and of course, visiting Gelert's grave. I would wholeheartedly recommend any family to stay here. I am so pleased we found this cottage when doing our research from South Africa before our holiday. Thank you!"

M Scott,

My family and I recently stayed for the weekend at Jackie's home in Beddgelert over a weekend when we climbed Snowdon. The home is lovely with three good size bedrooms, two bathrooms (one shower, one bath), a well equipped kitchen and large living room. The home was perfectly situated for this with a local (very cheap) bus to a suitable car park from which to start a couple of the walks. Beddgelert is a very pretty village with restaurants, pubs and a great pizzeria and ice cream shop! We also visited Portmeirion on the day we weren't climbing Snowdon - this was only a 20 minute drive away and a lovely day out. We really enjoyed our stay and would recommend Jackie's home!

Amy,

A real joy

Five of us spent a great, late April week at Beddgelert House in what turned out to be a wintry one, but it didn't matter. The cental heating system is really efficient, and we also made use of the very welcome and effective wood-burning stove.

Everything in the house is well organised and clean.

The views or the surrounding hills from the french windows are a bonus.

Every step of the way, the attention to detail, from booking stage to the house information folder, made the whole experience a very pleasant and easy-going one.

That, coupled with the location, on the edge of the village, not far from the steam railway station, pubs, village store, restaurant, and with bus routes around Snowdonia, all rounded out the holiday.

We were beaten back from the summit of Snowdon by the weather, but there were plenty of lower-level climbs that were satisfying.

We will return!

Duncan,

We very much enjoyed our stay in Jackie's home in Snowdonia. It was very well appointed, stylish and cosy. Situated in a beautiful village, it was close to many excellent walks. We also enjoyed visiting Portmeirion, only 20 minutes away. Very easy living, and well protected from the weather! A good place to hunker down with our family.

James,

The Beddgelert house is superb. Very modern and open space that can easily fit a family of 4 or even 6. No issues checking in or out and everything was well prepared for us. Beddgelert is a very lovely little village and lots of gorgeous scenery. Take a steam train ride right from the back gate or climb Snowdon from only minutes down the road. Would highly recommend.

Tom,

A perfect stay in beatiful surroundings.
It is not that often that a holiday cottage is exactly as it is described or better but this was very much the case here. The cottage is spacious and clean with excellent facilities. The location is perfect for Snowdonia and there are some wonderful local walks. The owners recommended the Aberglaslyn Gorge walk which we also highly recommend. Beddgelert is delightful picturesque quiet village but it is not short on places to eat and drink. There is good range of restaurants whether the children just fancied a pizza at Glaslyn or we wanted to treat ourselves to something more relaxing at the River Garden. I would also recommend the Saracens Head after a good walk. In fact we did not have time to get around them all. If you are on holiday with your kids there is the award winning Glaslyn ice cream shop. The owner informed me there are 39 different flavours and despite a concerted effort from the kids we did well to try 21 in the week. Nothing like an awarding winning sorbet having climbed Snowdon. The owners provided us with plenty of accurate and helpful information to ensure the process and stay was hassle free and we would happily recommend it to friends and family although only after we have made our booking for next year as I am sure it will get booked up.

HomeAway,

Fabulous base for exploring Snowdonia

We (a family of four, two girls 8 and 10) stayed at Beddgelert House for the February half term week. Jackie, the owner, was extremely helpful both before and after our stay and provided lots of really useful information to help us make the most of our holiday. The house itself is extremely well-appointed and the photos do genuinely reflect what you find. The log burner was great after a day out in the cold! Beddgelert itself is a great base for a holiday in this part of the country - picturesque with good pubs (especially the Tanronnen Inn). There are great local walks suitable for older children - e.g. to the remote Llyn Llywelyn or up Cwm Bychan past old copper mine workings. We also enjoyed some good trips out to Caernarfon, Anglesey and even 'Bounce Below'! We would heartily recommend this property and will be returning.

HomeAway,

We would recommend this property and village without hesitation. The house is beautiful, exactly as it looks in the photos; spotlessly clean, modern, tastefully decorated and has all the essentials as well as many extras not normally provided with a holiday rental. Hafodty is situated close to the lovely village of Beddgelert with walks accessible straight from the house and the Welsh Highland Railway just a minute's walk from the garden, where you can take a step back in time for a relaxing steam train ride to Caernarvon or Porthmadog. Beddgelert is a beautiful village with several good choices of eating places, together with a well stocked village store and a handful of craft/antique/gallery shops. Our favourites to eat were the Tanronnen Inn and the Prince Llewellyn, and the cafe also had great food. Hafodty and Beddgelert are ideally situated for Snowdon itself (we were lazy and took the train), the coastal towns of Caernarvon and Porthmadog, and my personal favourite, the rather wacky but beautiful Portmeirion gardens. Obviously there are walks galore and we took the stunning walk along the Aberglaslyn Pass and up into the mountains (not suitable for the less sure-footed). We were lucky to have a week of sun with not one spot of rain so everything was great but there is plenty to see and do even in less fine weather. The owner of the house offered superb, efficient and informative communication throughout and was a pleasure to deal with, also offering much useful information on the area, both in advance by email and left in the house. Together with the welcome coffee, biscuits, and milk in the fridge, we were made to feel very welcome and can honestly say we were very reluctant to leave; we hope to return one day.

BEAUTIFUL CLEAN HOME FROM HOME

5 out of 5
May 2014

we arrived to find milk and biscuits waiting for us. the house was immaculate with plenty of room for 5 of us. the property was just as it looked on the web site and very well ordered and kept. there was plenty of information regarding how to use the household equipment and also what was on offer in the village such as what to do and where to eat. there was also opportunity for guests to write their own recommendations for other guests. for train fans, the garden is situated thirty seconds from the Welsh Highland Railway and my husband and son both enjoyed taking their coffee and standing on the platform watching the trains! we were able to ride on the railway although it is quite expensive but for a treat and for the stunning views it is worth it. the booking procedure and subsequent e-mail information from the owner has been first class and nothing was too much trouble. we are hoping to stay at the house again next year and would recommend it to anyone.

Lovely Stay in Bedgelert
We loved our stay in this spacious property in Bedgelert. The property was well equipped, spotlessly clean and in a great location. Communication with the owners was excellent, with plenty of information on things to do and local amenities. Would go back this year again if available, but clearly others enjoyed their stay too in this property, judging by the demand!

OwnersDirect,

This bungalow is in a lovely position with easy access to great walks in the surrounding area. The village is a short stroll away with a good selection of pubs and restaurants, village shop (which stocks a surprising variety of goods) and a Post Office. Also - the best icecreams we've had in ages at the icecream parlour!

The house was clean, modern and well equipped. We had a problem with keys, but this was quickly resolved - the owner is contactable by phone and very helpful.

We stayed there with 3 older children (aged 11,14 and 16) and found plenty to do in the week we were there - lots of walking as well as local museums and a trip to Caernarfon on the steam train.

I would certainly recommend staying here!

Perfect week
We spent a really lovely week in this cottage - sunny, blue skies, mountain air, and adjourning to the little sun-kissed patio with an ice cream at the end of a long day's walking was just perfect. Very helpful neighbour on hand and a clean, well equipped cottage made for a really special holiday. Thank you.

Booked this property for a weekend break with friends. Owner was very helpful and provided accurate information in advance. House was clean, spacious and tastefully furnished. Location good within the village of Beddgelert and a good base for exploring the local area. I have previously stayed in the owners other property in Conwy ( Castleview Cottage) which is also maintained to a very high standard. I would recommend to family and friends and would love to return in the summer months to take advantage of the gorgeous surroundings.

Debbie ,

We have just spent an amazing 2 weeks in Beddgelert. My husband and I took our 2 children (age 5 and 8). We all had a terrific time and were desperately sad to leave.
The house is lovely, minimalistic and clean. A home from home I wanted for nothing. I did not even miss the dishwasher!
Beddgelert is beautiful and has such an great source of pubs, etc that there is something for everyone. We are missing are evening walks to the bridge to wave at the stream train while eating our new flavoured ice cream (Baileys highly recommended!) It is also very central with Criccieth beach a 30 mins drive away. A great base for exploring North Wales! Book without a worry!

Beddgelert House is perfect - I can't fault it - it is exactly as described and really is as lovely as it looks in the photos. Everything you need is in the house and it has a lovely outlook over the National Park at the back. In the evenings you can sit on the sofa and just gaze at the hills looking forward to tomorrow's adventures!
The owner is exceptionally amenable and answered all my queries and was very helpful. The village of Beddgelert is very picturesque, you can walk out of the front door into the village in 5 minutes, yet the house is tucked away up a lane and is very quiet. You can do some gorgeous walks straight from the front door, around Beddgelert, Llyn Dinas, Cwm Bychan and the Aberglaslyn pass and of course Moel Hebog from the back door!
I stayed at the house with 3 friends and we all had a great time, we will definitely be back, very, very soon.

Brilliant Week in Beddgelert

We stayed in Hafodty the second week of Easter and had a great time. The location of the property is excellent for exploring Snowdonia with Beddgelert Station (narrow gauge steam) a 30 second walk from the patio doors and the Sherpa bus stop 1 minute down the hill into the village next to the well stocked and helpful tourist office. Beddgelert has lots to offer and plenty of options for eating out. We liked the 'family friendly' Saracen's Head but did only eat out twice as we had gone prepared for self-catering and the well-equipped kitchen made this easy. No dishwasher was a bit of a pain when you are used to one, but having plenty of everything made up for it. Our week was mixed weather, but a bit wet and cold, so it was great to be able to come back to a warm, comfortable house and on a couple of nights we used the wood burning stove to make it really cosy.

You can do a morning's walk up through the Aberglaslyn Pass and then back over the hills from the door, the last part offering a great view over Beddgelert. You can also walk to the Sygun Copper Mine. We were on a mission to walk up Snowdon with our teenage children which we did twice, once up the Pyg track (need to start early to secure parking which costs £10 by the way), returning down the Miner's track and the second time up the Watkin Path, which was somewhat challenging at the end with a poorly defined loose scree scramble (check out the internet before trying this one although you could just walk up to the waterfalls).

The owner provided us with excellent instructions on how to get to the property and was very helpful when we had a problem with the heating one day.

Finally, it is worth taking some time to look up at the sky on a clear night from the decked patio area and take in the view, especially if you live in a big town like us, as Beddgelert has some of the darkest skies in Britain and the stars are spectacular.

Would definitely recommend this property and location.

Great Property for Exploring North Wales
We had a very pleasant stay in Beddgelert. The property is part of a small housing development on the outskirts of the village. There were lovely views from the living and dining area. It was well equipped and furnished. Jackie was very easy to deal with and we would recommend the property for those wishing to use Beddgelert as a base to explore the lovely walks in North Wales.

Beautiful house, beautiful location
My partner and I have just spent the last week or so in Hafodty. The house is beautiful, as is the location. Surrounded by the mountains of Snowdonia this must be one of the most gorgeous places we have ever visited. The house itself is superb. Wooden ceilings, slate floors, sliding patio doors, very well stocked kitchen, 2 bathrooms, stairs up to mezzanine bedroom, freezer, and wood burning stove plus 2 other bedrooms. We have holidayed in North Wales for quite some period of time and cannot recall having stayed in such a great property in such an amazing location. We dont think we need to search any longer as Hafodty is quite simply the perfect holiday home. Visit it and experience the beauty and splendour of the area and return home in the evening to a quite magnificent house. The Welsh Highland Railway is only 20 yards from the property.
Superb.

Beautiful home, stunning location
We had a fantastic family weekend in this beautiful, stylish home from home. It was spacious, well designed, well equipped and spotlessly clean. The house is in a stunning location in the heart of Snowdonia, with mountain views across the back deck and from the main bedroom window. It's within a few minutes walk of beautiful Beddgelert village and it's a brilliant base for touring Snowdonia. The owner provided loads of useful information about local attractions and places to eat. We spent our first weekend exploring the local area and going on some of the easier, riverside and country park walks with our two children, but can't wait to go back and explore further afield later in the year and maybe even make it up one of the smaller mountains!

Absolutely Perfect retreat
This was our second visit to Beddgelert House! We had another fantastic stay. The property is absolutely fantastic! Well equipped, super clean and extremely cosy! Especially once you get the log burner going which is a delight. Its in an amazing location in Beddgelert. The walks in this area are simply stunning. The customer service that the owner provides is faultless, very detailed information is provided. As soon as you walk through the front door you immediately feel at home. Honestly couldn't have asked for more! I would recommend this property to anyone without hesitation, its a wonderful place for a holiday or break. Thank you
